When the screen goes black but the console still powers on, the HDMI port is almost always the culprit — usually from a cable getting bumped while it was plugged in.
This is a micro-soldering repair, not a parts swap: the damaged port comes off the board and a new one goes on. Plenty of shops send this work out or refuse it entirely. We do it in-house, and most HDMI repairs are finished the same day you bring the console in.
